Kalani High School’s Girls Water Polo program offers an exciting and challenging opportunity for student-athletes who love the water and thrive on competition. Designed for those who are confident and strong swimmers, the program combines endurance, teamwork, and strategy in one of the most demanding aquatic sports.
Competing in the OIA’s highly competitive league, the Falcons emphasize water skills, conditioning, and tactical awareness while promoting sportsmanship and team unity. Players develop not only as athletes but also as leaders—pushing themselves to perform at their best in every match and training session. Biography: Coach Sherri Barrett is a proud 2001 Kalani alumna who returned to her alma mater to lead the Swimming and Diving program in 2022 and the Water Polo program in 2025. Her extensive coaching career spans over two decades, beginning in 2000 with the Lokahi Ho'au swim club. Coach Barrett has since held coaching positions for multiple programs, including leading Kalani Swimming (2006–2007), McKinley Water Polo (2007), Kaiser Swimming and Water Polo (2007–2012), and Farrington Swimming and Water Polo (2014–2024). Her philosophy emphasizes hard work, dedication, and mutual respect, with the goal of helping student-athletes improve their skills and grow as leaders.
