The Kalani High School Junior Varsity Boys Basketball program serves as a vital stepping stone for student-athletes aspiring to compete at the varsity level. Focused on developing fundamental basketball skills, teamwork, and court awareness, the program emphasizes growth, discipline, and sportsmanship. Through structured practices and competitive league play, players gain valuable experience in game strategy, conditioning, and leadership while representing Kalani with pride. The JV program instills the “Falcon Way” — commitment, effort, and respect — preparing athletes to excel both on and off the court. GO FALCONS!

Biography: Coach Roger Dequina is a 1994 graduate of UH Hilo. As a player he has experience competing in international basketball, and semi-pro tournaments throughout the Pacific (Japan, Phillipines, and Oceania). He has over 20 years of basketball coaching experience including coaching girls and boys Varsity basketball for schools in the Pacific (Guam, Japan) and various youth, club, and travel teams since moving back to Oahu in 2004. Coach Dequina supports Coach Weeks with building strong continuity within the program.
