The Kalani Varsity Cross Country program provides student-athletes with the opportunity to participate in a competitive and endurance-based sport that emphasizes both individual achievement and team success. Athletes develop physical stamina, mental resilience, and strategic racing skills through disciplined training and regular competition. The program fosters values of perseverance, sportsmanship, and teamwork, while encouraging athletes to set personal goals and represent their school with pride. GO FALCONS!

Biography: Coach Matt Sanders is a seasoned coach and lifelong runner who participated in cross country, track, football, and soccer at Campbell High School (Class of 1982). Raised in Oklahoma and Hawaiʻi, he began coaching at Campbell in the mid-1980s before joining the Kalani staff in 2018. Coach Sanders' coaching philosophy is built upon helping athletes learn life lessons like teamwork, perseverance, and goal-setting. He strives to help athletes discover their personal potential by focusing on their dedication and motivation.
