Kalani’s Soft Tennis program provides student-athletes with the opportunity to participate in a unique and dynamic racquet sport that originated in Japan, emphasizing speed, strategy, and precision. Played with a softer rubber ball, the game places a strong focus on quick reflexes, agility, and control, making it both fast-paced and accessible to players of all skill levels.

Biography: Coach Shaun Miyata is a proud alumnus of Kalani High School, graduating with the class of 2005 after playing for the Falcons from 2003 to 2005. He began his coaching career in 2018, viewing it as an honor to give back to his alma mater and the program that was a significant part of his high school experience. Coach Miyata finds great satisfaction in watching each student athlete set personal goals and helping them achieve or even exceed their expectations.
