The Kalani High School Junior Varsity Girls Basketball program is designed to develop young student-athletes who aspire to compete at the varsity level. The program emphasizes skill building, basketball fundamentals, teamwork, and personal growth. Players gain valuable experience through structured practices and competitive game play while learning the importance of discipline, effort, and sportsmanship.
Under the guidance of dedicated coaches, athletes focus on mastering core techniques such as ball handling, shooting, defense, and court awareness, all within a supportive environment that encourages learning and improvement. The JV program serves as a vital bridge between beginner and varsity competition—preparing each player to contribute confidently to the future success of Kalani Girls Basketball. GO FALCONS!

Biography: Coach AJ DeJesus, a Kaimuki High School graduate, joined the Kalani coaching staff in 2024 and became Girls Junior Varsity Head Coach in 2025. Coach DeJesus began coaching in 2012 and previously led teams at Kaiser and Maryknoll, where he was part of championship-winning squads at the Intermediate, JV, and Varsity levels. Coach DeJesus is driven by a passion to give back to the sport and connect with the younger generation.
