Falcons Shine at OIA Eastern Division Cross Country Championships
Kalani Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams turned in outstanding performances at the OIA Eastern Division Championships held on Saturday, October 18, at Central Oʻahu Regional Park.
The Boys Team kicked off the morning with their race at 10:30 a.m., earning an impressive 2nd-place finish overall. Leading the way for the Falcons was Seita Takinishi, who placed 5th and set a personal course record. Strong finishes also came from Rui Imai (8th), Oscar Richardson (11th), Jisung Kang (12th, PR), and Hayden Bishop (20th, PR).
The Girls Team took to the course around 11:15 a.m. under hot and windy conditions, battling through to secure a 3rd-place team finish. Ashlyn Wang led the Falcons with a personal-best performance, followed by a wave of personal records from Tricia Tengan (13th, PR), Ella Kimura (15th, PR), Jerney Martin (16th, PR), and Anela Ohelo (18th, PR).
Both teams now advance to the OIA Championships, scheduled for Saturday, October 25, once again at Central Oʻahu Regional Park beginning at 8:30 a.m.
